October Show at the Isadore Gallery
Good news.... I have been working toward getting a gallery show together by the end of the summer and all my hard work is paying off! First Friday in October at the Isadore Gallery I will be showing 12 - 18x24 prints from my ongoing project Land of Enchantment. I am so extremely excited! It will be a really interesting show with my large scale prints of New Mexico next to my dad's abstract paintings and drawings. Nothing like keeping it eclectic right. Ill keep updating about news of the show the closer it gets to October, until then Ill be hard at work making prints and framing!

Finding Time For New Edits
Lilian Garcia, Tijeras, New Mexico, 2011,

Just returned from New Mexico a couple of weeks ago and I have well over a thousand photographs that I am looking forward to editing! The trip went by so fast ( as most vacations do)! It was a fairly normal visit with my parent, relaxing, eating sumptuous meals, and just soaking it all in. We spent a few days in Albuquerque & Santa Fe, we also took a day trip to see ancient indian ruins which were amazing. It was sad to say goodbye to my parents and leave beautiful New Mexico behind till next year. Hopefully I can start finding more time to work on the photographs so that they can bring me back to the land of enchantment again.

Westward Bound
So, in the next few weeks I will be visiting my parents in New Mexico for our yearly trip. I cant wait to be there! New Mexico has become this amazing escape in which I can take a long reprieve from my routine and social endeavors. Its beautiful landscape, amazing foods and its general New Mexico time frame (extremely laid back and loose), has been a second home for me for the past 7 years. I foresee this trip being somewhat different geographically than the rest. My folks have already encountered the side effects of the fire's that have been raging in Arizona and the highest recorded drought in the New Mexico's history.
Given my investment as a photographer, documenting the landscape of my families land and the surroundings of the West, I have a feeling that this years groupings of images shall be of a different quality.
Im sure that the natural beauty of the land will be as apparent as previous years, but perhaps there will be this element of foreboding natural calamity that could be added to the mix. My hope's are that these disaster will subside and that nature will repair the damage that has been done, but thats me keeping my fingers crossed. Either way, westward bound here I come! I cant wait.
