A New Approach to New Mexico

So this year I have began to notice a shift in the kinds of photo's I am taking in my New Mexico project. The images that I am drawn to this year have kind of shifted the balance within the body of work.

Graveyard , Albuquerque, New Mexico, 2012, Relative Time-Present History, Christopher Moss

In turn I have once again started asking myself  "what am I really trying to get at with these photographs.....?" Its a big question and its one that I feel is evolving over time, as do the pictures that I am drawn to the most.

I may have to break down the project into different cross sections ...... well i dunno, either way these photo's may be the beginning's of a new approach to time in New Mexico.

Back log Archives

So, like many years past I have returned from my families home in New Mexico touting well over a 1000 images from my travels . This year was a little bit more hectic than past but non the less I definitely got allot of great photo's that I have to begin editing through. So that being said I have gone about cleaning up my back log photo's to clear space on my computer for new images. In doing so I came across a bunch of great photo's that I must have over looked earlier. The photo's that I keep that don't fit into my other project's might just form the beginning of a new project. I was thinking about calling them "Man's Folly & Uniformity". I havent settled on a title yet but they seem to be somewhat humorous man made objects or circumstances, or the exact opposite being ridged creations and compositions. Either way I'll be fleshing out this new project as it comes while looking for old gems before I can get to the new work. Here are a few edits of old images that I found in the archives, enjoy!

Occupy AIPAC

Today marked a new geopolitical direction for the Occupy movement. Delegates at this years America Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) meeting awoke to a dose of what they fear most: people’s democracy. As their conference unfolds from now until March 6, AIPACers will be greeted by the ongoing scores of occupiers who have descended on Capitol Hill. AIPAC is the 1% of American foreign policy; they’re the eyes, ears, nose and mouth of America’s generals, politicians and economic elite. At #OccupyAIPAC they come face to face with the 99%. 2012 Starting Off Good!

As much as people have prophesied 2012 as an end time I however am reining in the new year with great new beginnings. To start the year off right I have sold my first piece of work at the Isadore Gallery, started building a website, and signed off on a lease with 2 other aspiring photographers on a studio collective. It feels great to be on the right track!
We are currently renovating the studio and preparing it for our opening sometime in February. The  two other photographers, Tom Roe and Renee Althouse, already have their own business's in the works and will be using this space as their home base. I however will be using the space to build a solid portfolio involving food, product, portraiture, still life, stock and architectural photography. Hopefully I'll pick up some clients in 2012 with this portfolio on my website that I hope to get up and running around mid February . I'll keep posting on any new update's as they come and I hope to keep this momentum from here on out. Cheers, and Happy 2012!
